Judith Beam The Dog Lady

What Clients are Saying...

Judith Beam,

Biscuit has become much easier to live with since starting daily walks. When I get come home from work she is still happy to see me but she is not as demanding as she used to be. She has stopped sneaking off to pee somewhere in the house when she loses my attention and she doesn't get as frantic as she used to when it storms.

In general Biscuit seems to be happier and more relaxed since she started daily walks and I feel better about having to leave her home alone all day while I'm at work!

Judith Beam,

I would like to thank you for all your help with Max, our 5 month old, 80 lb Newfoundland puppy.

Max would like to thank you for training us! Until we attended your classes, we had no idea that the main reason Max was not responding to "at home" puppy training, was the fact that we were too focused on the negative behaviors that he was displaying and not focused enough on rewarding the positive things that he was doing.

Max has responded well to the change in the training approach and is well on his way to becoming the perfect family pet.

Your knowledge of dogs and their breed specific behaviors amazes me. The small class size was very personal and was very enjoyable to attend. I would highly recommend you to anyone that owns a puppy/dog.

Max and our family truly appreciates your talent, care for animals, and patience with the not so easy to tackle dogs.

We would love to invite you into our house in the next couple of months for an at home training session, just to keep us and Max on the right track.

A Sincere Thank You

-The McAteer's and Max (Newfoundland)

It took my husband and I almost 15 years to have a vacation together !!! Thanks Judith!

We trust Judith with our animals the same way we take care of them, with a lot of TLC.

I have total faith in Judith , she is more than capable, responsible, and has such a big heart !!

Judith goes above and beyond; I have total faith in her abilities and kindness. My boys love her and so do I; she is exceptional at her job !!

I wouldn't leave the dogs with just anyone. I know I can leave and not have to worry about them.

Makes my life so much better.

I can call anytime, and she is there; the trust I have in her, I wouldn't have in 99% of the population.

I have a black Labrador Retriever who, even as a little pup, had plenty of "attitude". She seemed fearless, wanted to rule the roost, and did not take correction well.

Before I met Judith, I was using firm corrections, and a prong collar and getting nowhere. The pup was confrontational, she nipped and snapped at me and, of course, was a tireless ball of energy!

After contacting Judith and having a few private lessons, I soon learned that a gentle method was the way to go- less direct eye contact, softer voice, praising the good things and trying to ignore the bad (really hard to do)! I learned how to avoid the situations that would escalate bad behavior and what to do if I got in them.

Judith switched my dog over to a Gentle Leader for walks. At 14 months, my dog's behavior has improved dramatically.

Thank you, Judith!

Judith has a special way with animals. She has looked after my Siberian Huskies since they were puppies and they love her! When I go away, Judith moves in and I can leave without worrying or feeling guilty about my dogs and their care.

She is very intuitive and allows this to guide her in the individual treatment animals in her care receive. Each animal has Judith's undivided attention and she makes them feel loved and safe. Another bonus is that 'The Dog Lady' lives on our street!

Judith,

Gideon and I highly recommend and enjoyed the group class! My new best friend, Gideon, learned so many new tricks and learned to be obedient. It was a fun night out and found it to be very beneficial!

Every owner and pet had different issues and even though we were a group of four, Judith was able to treat each one as an individual. Looking forward to future classes as well!

I have taken Judith Beam’s pet obedience classes with both my dogs and find her teaching methods to be a gentle, positive approach to good dog behaviour. With a six year old rescued hound from Hurricane Katrina, who spent 3 years after being rescued in a cage, I was skeptical at first. However, with Judith’s guidance, he proudly graduated with the rest of his class. The change in him was amazing.

Judith has also pet sat for me when I have gone away, and my dogs now think of her as a friend. She is professional and enjoys being with your pets and adheres to your instructions. She also leaves you a report of their behaviour after which is a nice touch!

I feel comfortable with Judith caring for my animals. I would highly recommend Judith for pet sitting or her training classes! After being involved in Pet Therapy in the community for many years, I have come to realize that positive training/care for a dog results in a great lifetime companion!

Sincerely

Dear Judith,

Thank you for providing such a comprehensive in home training program for Raffi. It was extraordinarily convenient and beneficial to have the option for professional training at home and in retrospect we think it probably was better for Raffi than we could have imagined.

We cannot thank you enough for your quieting confidence, intuitiveness and patience with our boy.As you well know, Briards like numerous other dogs, can choose the darker side of any and all canine traits without the appropriate training.

Thanks to you, Raffi's learning curve started on the sunny side and just got brighter.Raffi listened and learned and so did we, which puts all of us in good stead for the future.

We would recommend that anyone adding to or extending their family with man's best friend consider without hesitation the incomparable hand of "The Dog Lady".Thank You,Judith Beam!!

- Amy,Karol and of course Raffi (Briard)

Judith has taken care of our cat, Marmaduke, many times when we have gone away. As he came to us from an animal shelter, it is so nice knowing we can go away and not have to put him back in a cage.

Marmaduke loves his home comforts and Judith is great with him. She comes and feeds him and spends time playing with him, which he loves.

Judith is also great with our Brittany Spaniel, Peanut, who is a bundle of energy. It is great knowing that she is available to walk him if we have to be gone overnight.

Judith is always very reliable and trustworthy. She always pays attention to what you want her to do and does the little extras, like bringing in the papers and picking up the mail.Thank you Judith for the great job you do

- Jean & John and Marmaduke & Peanut

I found Judith Beam to be a very knowledgeable trainer quite capable of resolving a wide range of behavioural issues with the dogs in class.

The group classes are small and very manageable and the methods Judith teaches you are simple and effective.

Skye and I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent in class and she is a much better behaved dog because of it.

Judith,

We had been looking into obedience school for our dog Shady for quite some time, and I came across the ad for the Dog Lady... so when I found out that it was Judith, I immediately signed up!

She is wonderful with pets and she showed our dog nothing but love and compassion!

Before she came, Shady was wild, and going for his walks were the worst! When Judith came in, it was like instant relief! Shady took to her right away, and listened to every command (which he had never listened to us before :)

Since our sessions have ended, we have a new dog! He's calm and more relaxed, but still hasn't lost that special Shady touch that we love!

Thank you Judith

I have been using Canadian Forest Tree Essences religiously for the past 3 months for both myself and my dogs.

One of my dogs has anxiety when going on trips in the car. I use Animal Rescue before the trip and during the trip to keep her anxiety away. She is now able to settle in the car without the use of medications and their unpleasant side effects.

I also use Children's Happy Helping potion for both of my dogs to help keep their overly excited Labrador Retriever natures calmer. Both dogs are more centered, happier and able to receive instructions as they are more focused.

For myself I use Therapist & Healer as I work with the public in the health care field and find that I am not as effected by others negative energy and also I don't feel depleted by other people.

The essences are a lovely compliment to any therapy for both animals and humans and I highly recommend them.

I was thrilled to take my new puppy to training with Judith. Judith has a gentle yet firm way of helping us make Jake, our beloved Westie, a more behaved and responsive member of our family.

Judith was always patient with the pets, and also the owners, as she shared her experiences and learning's with us.

I would highly recommend her to any who has a new or adult pet that needs some guidance. Judith is a GEM. You will not be disappointed and will benefit greatly.

- Jackie & Jake (West Highland Terrier)

It was so convenient to have Judith come to the home and experience the greeting issues Mylo had. This is something that could not be duplicated in an classroom.

Mylo knows his commands and can perform, but one on one in the home environment, Judith was able to correct the greeting issues
